As part of my research, I completed a secondary education provisional teacher licensure program through the Virginia Department of Education and Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA (2009). Armed with decades of experience in biological sciences, health and wellness education, and clinical practice, I am proud to offer my passionate support for the worthy cause of English language education. 

My 2018 book, ILLITERATURE tackles the issue of the misguided misuse of literary fiction as the foundation for development of English reading, writing, and comprehension skills. 

It is NOT a criticism of literary fiction itself; but rather its mandatory usage in public education.  

America cannot afford to cling with a death grip to an antiquated tradition that does not produce modern results. 

It is time to renovate public school English curricula. 

Antagonizing students by assigning books they hate has never made sense. 

If we replace the so-called classics with reading materials to which students can relate, America’s abominable academic statistics might skyrocket.
